This is the fifth post in the Conversations With Friends series. In this interview I talk with my good friend, mentor, and inspiration to start blogging, Alan Knox from The Assembling of the Church. When you hear this interview you will understand why I am so arrogant and full of myself. With a mentor who says things like “I am God’s gift to mankind” (that may be taken out of context!) it’s not surprising that I am the way I am! Seriously though I appreciate Alan taking the time to talk with me and if you read Alan’s blog you will probably find this interesting. If you don’t read his blog you should check it out.
Check out the rest of the interviews here at the Blog or on my Vimeo ‘Conversations w/ Friends’ channel
also, I apologize for clearing my throat so much in this. I wasn’t feeling great.
In the fourth installment in the Conversations With Friends series I talk with J.R. Briggs about the upcoming Epic Fail Pastors Conference, what it means to be an expert on failure, and how our failings only serve to demonstrate God’s faithfulness. There are links below which he references during the interview. I would encourage you to check them out.

Dear Pastors – Tell Us the Truth
This is the third interview in what has become, for me, a really enjoyable series of interviews. In this video I chat with the author of Coffeehouse Theology, Ed Cyzewski. We talk about some of his new book ideas, contextual theology, postmodernism, and some other interesting stuff. I apologize for the sketchy audio. I was still trying to find good recording software. I have since solved the problem and from now on the audio should be much better. Big thanks to Ed for taking the time to talk with me!
This is the second interview in my “Conversations With Friends” series. Today I am talking with my good friend, Josh, who is currently serving in Belgium. We talk about Belgian culture, what he is doing for ministry, and a bunch of other stuff. Sorry for the interruption at the end, but, as this series is supposed to capture natural conversations, sometimes conversations are interrupted by our kids!
This is the first of hopefully a series of videos, Conversations with Friends. In this video I sit down with my grandfather-in-law Dave King and talk about his work in Ukraine, what he’s been learning as he prepares to teach a homiletics class, and how God ordained the ice storm of ’98 to get him on the mission field. As I said, this is the first of a hopeful series so please feel free to share your thoughts, how I can improve these, is it too long, too short, or whatever other suggestions you might have. Thanks!
